Can you please tell me what the show 'Ugly Betty' is all about please? It is coming to Channel 4 soon and the promo gives hardly anything away! Is it like a sketch show of some type and most of all, is it funny???! x

i think the show is funny. she is an every girl,but she is super confident , smart,and funny(mostly her clothes) she works at a super swanky mag and she looks like she gets her clothes out of the reject bin at the salvation army. betty is great. check it out. it is not a sketch show. more like a look into a average girl's life.

well, im australia but i know the show
its about a girl (betty) who is very smart, but is not as attractive as she could be (and probably will be - yanks and their makeovers)
she gets a job at "mode" magazine as the editors assistant - she is hired by the eds father (who owns the mag), so that he will keep his mind on the job, rather than on his secretary. hes a "ladies man".
she is from a working class family - duck out of water blah blah blah.
if uve seen - the devil wears prada - this is similar, but funny.
salma hyak (sp?) is guesting in it at the mo - she is gorgeous.
i like it, its easy to watch, and some of the characters r fun. amanda & marc r my favs.
i much prefer australian and english comedys to american - but this is alright. guys i know hate it. but thats ok.

I don't like it. It's about a ugly girl who's smart and gets her first job w/ a magazine. She's trying to fit in but kind of gets dismissed because she's ugly and doesn't dress well. That's all I've really gotten out of it.

Don't give it much thought, this show is totally stupid & won't last more than a few episodes. You'll just be disappointed when they cancel it if you get attached.

its like (bettie b), I love the show I download it every week. you really should watch it if you love the Drama-Comedy type.
P.S: the gay child is her naphio.

i've only seen one episode and it was mediocre. she has a preteen gay brother though. that was pretty funny. but i haven't been interested in tuning in again.
