Every generation thinks the next generation is going to destroy society.

It hasn't happened recently, and I don't expect it to happen soon.

My generation were the hippies, and we were supposed to be the harbingers of social collapse. Now we're all accountants and management consultants and looking forward to retirement.

Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose (or something like that!).

The social collapse of Britain, and I agree it constitutes an urgent crisis, results from its political and economic management for an international business elite. As those in power benefit in the short term as part of this elite they are unlikely to do anything effective about this social crisis soon.

Incidentally, the Human Rights Act would if properly applied help address this crisis, not make it worse. For instance, excessive migration harms human rights, such as the right to family life, of those entering the country as well as those already living here.

The social collapse of Britain will be made still worse by the even more serious impending environmental crisis due to global warming.

This collapse is probably being orchestrated by the Blair government in order to introduce ID cards and further curtail our liberties. Look at Germany before the last war, social collapse lead to National Socialism and the Nazi party taking power. the collapse will only be reversed when the government brings back a pride in being English and British while they continue to make the English look racist, fascist or anything else the collapse will continue.

The post by finesse 15 really is genius. Some fantastic writing there, and so true. And the other post about tony blairs human right act. Tony cant get rid of that now even if he wanted to, why you ask. Two letters, E.U. The e.u are pretty much telling tony what he has to do and this applies to whoever runs the shop next. Until we get out of the E.U we will see so much more of this. So that dosen't mean you vote for the main 3.

If you vote Labour - this is what you get. They have invented so many prohibitions and prescriptions nobody knows nor cares what the law is. They have built a culture of non-compliance with the law.

Their moronic tax grab policies have had the effect of making us uncompetitive which means fewer and fewer value adding and esteem building jobs just government sinecures for their friends.

If you let people like this get elected then ... what do you expect ?

No, because even though Blair forced the hated European Human Rights Act 1998 onto the British people, which he failed to mention as a part of his Election Manifesto in 1997, he hasn't got he b*lls or spine to get rid of it!!! This and that fact that the Wicked Witch, Cherie Booth - Wife of the, alleged, British Prime Minister, who likes nothing better than freeloading and robbing charities, would NEVER allow phoney Tony to get rid of th H.R.A because this is where she earns the vast majority of her money defending peados. rapists, terrorists, murderers, child killers and benefit cheats all thanks to Legal Aid. Isn't Britain great? Makes me proud to be the laughing stock of the world!

This nation seems to be in a state of confusion. I think this confusion comes from a duplicity of social morals.
On the one hand, everyone is all too aware of 'health and safety' within society, and of avoiding offending certain groups. People are constantly warned 'you can't do that, you can't say this'. There is an uneasy control of people here, which means you can't talk about pigs in the street for fear of offending an out of work farmer.
But on the other hand, society is altogether too permisive. Children can go around in tops saying 'crack b itch', tv programmes during the day can talk freely about sticking bits of fruit in your bottom, Russell Brand can jump around with his nob hanging out if he wished to do so.
Because of this, there is a lack of social respect. Children are brought up in this duplicitous society where they resent being told what to do, because that's an infringement on them enjoying watching tv programmes about bestiality. Or listening to music about tearing off someone's face. Loudly. On a train.
Additionally, due to restrictions on having fun, children are encouraged to wrap up in cotton wool, and sit in the house playing PS2, where they can go round a fictional world slaughtering prostitutes. Apparently, this is far better for them than going into the real world and having adventures and scraped knees. Certainly, much rather they learn how to assasinate someone in pixels than risk falling over when playing outside. Or rather, not.
Then when they grow up with no awareness of respect for others or themselves, their view of the world will be totally self-centred and 'in the moment', that they'll see no problem in drinking until their eyes bleed then kicking a man to death for looking at their pint.

After reading the post above me I am in the states but you would think we are talking about the same place. It sounds very much like the problems we have here.
Good Luck
