Are you talking about free advice from Al Gore or treatment at the local rehab? They are celebrities and they deserve some perks to go along with their daily punishment. If there is one lesson to learn from most of them is that they are overall very unsatisfied people. I mean they have eating disorder, drug addiction and divorce built in as almost standard. Then to top it off they have a camera shoved up their but where ever they go, I can understand why most of them develop an attitude problem.

Because the company wants the stars to promote the product so they give it to them.
You and I aren't as important as a star and the general public won't go out and buy the product just because WE use it.
But let a well known star start talking about it, and there's hordes of people flocking to the store to buy it.

It's free advertisement for the companies because the stars are always on t.v. or in the magazines.

I think the logic behind it is like a gimmie cap, lots of people will see it. Using that logic, MILLIONS of people will see and listen to celebrities on a daily basis...so why not give away a 10K item for 50K in advertising? Makes sense to me! (But I still say it sucks and wish just ONE of them would sell that Gucci whatever and pay my rent and make sure I have groceries!)

Because those who present them the gifts have a goal in mind! Free advertising! (the cost of the free item is all it takes for them to advertise their brand)

YOu and me and unknown people so they wont waste the cost of that item on us, we wont do them good!
