It's condensation. But what happens with condensation?

The process by which a liquid is removed from a vapor. In the water cycle, water vapor rises, cools, and condenses, sometimes clinging to tiny particles of dust in the atmosphere. Condensed water vapor either remains a liquid or turns directly into a solid (ice, hail or snow). Clouds are formed by condensed water particles.

Everything in this world is in the state of equilibrium.If one thing is hot and other is cold then both will lose their state to come at that state which is common to both. Likewise,in winter when outside temperature gradually decreases then our body which is hot keeps balance to maintain the temperature to the outside .and in the process our body start loosing heat to the atmosphere. our heat particles condensed when contacted to cold and the result smoke.

The moisture in your breath increases the humidity of the cold air to 100% which causes fog, or visible breath.

Your breath is 98.6 degrees F. Dewpoints are well below that temp. during winter, dewpoint or frostpoint when below 32 degrees, and when you exhale, your breath condenses into a cloud. you don't see that during summer when dewpoints are near 50-70 almost all season long, so you Don't see it.
