Strange maybe, but I'm looking to getting a pet raccoon. I know it's legal in America but I can't find any information for the UK.

It is not legal in the US without a permit in most states. Rehabilitation places will not even usually take raccoons anymore.
As for a pet raccoon- you don't want one. They will be a cute and adorable baby, but no matter how much you socialize them, 90% of them will turn at about sexual maturity and start attacking you for no reason. You will not be able to hold or pet them, and they bite and scratch very hard. I have scars yet from raccoon bites.
They need constant stimulation and a lot of brand new toys. If you do not prove this, they will start attacking you for a game. They will tear apart everything they get into, couches, bags, walls, etc. They will also eat everything- I know of one case where someone thought it would be a good idea to have a raccoon- and it killed their cat and ate all of the saltwater fish in her aquarium. (there was a solid clip on lid- the raccoon removed it)
Please rethink your pet choices.
They also carry many diseases. I know exactly where the ones I handled came from, and could be pretty sure that they were disease free, but can you say the same with one that you could find? There are vaccines available, but not tested on if they even work on raccoons.

More and more vets are opting to vaccinate every 3 years, just like the 3 year rabies shot.. There is evidence that vaccines last longer then was once believed and a simple blood test can be done to determine if immunities are still high or not.. If your worried about over vaccinating you could request this test prior to the shot...it will cost a little more than the shot would, but could keep your dog from being over vaccinated...Speak to your vet about it.. you have reason to be concerned, as it is also proven that vaccines can and do cause some cancers in dogs/cats especially at the injection sites and in the bones near the injection site...

It is NOT legal to own a raccoon in the states. A raccoon is a wild woodland animal, that is NOT safe for a pet. They are actually quite mean and bite!

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU7VP

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

You don't want one. You think you do, but you don't. They become impossible to live with once they hit sexual maturity. Even neutering them doesn't help. They will destroy your house. They will open everything. They are highly intelligent and mischievous.
they are cute and adorable as babies, but everyone I've ever known (4 families) who has had one has had to end up finding a home for it in a zoo or park once they reach adulthood.
Also, as adults, they can become very mean to their 'owners'. Get a cat or dog and call it a day.

There are a bunch of things you should know about dog training but we are going to discuss what I feel are some the most important. Keep in mind that these are only some of the things you should know. Go here http://OnlineDogTraining.enle.info/?a9bB

1. Repetition is the number 1 principle of dog training. Dogs just like humans learn by doing things over and over in order to get better.

2. Dog Training can and should be fun for both you and your new pet.

3. Training sessions should always be short but sweet. I never work a dog more than 15 minutes in a session to keep from losing the dog's attention. You should train you dog at least once a day but never more than three formal sessions a day.

4. Your goal should be that each training session is just a little bit better than the last one. You need to always strive to make the training better, slowly. I mention this because quite often I see people who do daily training sessions but the dog never gets better and it is not the dogs fault.

5. Having patients is very important in dog training. Losing your temper does not work with a canine it simply makes things worse.

6. Exercise is very important in the training process to get rid of all the dogs nervous energy.

7. Taking your pet for walks is very important because it develops serotonin which gives your dog a feeling of well being.

8. Always be sure to give your dog a bunch of praise in your training. It is your dog's paycheck for doing a great job.

9. Never hit your dog. I have heard people say I never hit my dog instead I roll up a magazine and swat it. It's the same thing... hitting is hitting.

10. After each training session be sure to do something that your dog will enjoy. Take it for a walk, throw the ball or maybe even rub its belly. Just do something that makes the dog look forward to the next training session.

These are things that I teach my dog training students as well as my dog training clients. I hope these things will give you something to think about when training your dog. Spend some time training your dog daily and you will both reap the benefits.
