Yes and No
Yes,,,,, if you don't clean the car before coveing it up or if you cover it up outside and there is High winds...
No.... If you clean the car 1st then cover it and park it in the garage...
If the cover moves over the paint it acts like sand paper. Takes months to notice but does scratch the paint....
If you don't have a garage try to parking it under a Carport after cleaning it...
Happy Motoring...

Absolutely, I have a restored 306D merc. Is it outside ?. The wind will cause the cover to rub against the paintwork. Have you ever realised why new cars lose their shine ?....It's because you have washed your car, yes..... the car hose-brush is the worst, the cheap sponge and even your chamois will create microscopic scratches that build up over the years.

Not if you get a good one, steer clear of the cheap ones which are like tarpaulin. It needs to be a lined one or over time the cover will chafe raised edge.
Go to www.carcoversuk.com they do a complete range for everything you could imagine. I bougth one for my MGF at £160 as an outdoor one, and it's first class, uses webflex 295 fabric and also wicks aay condensation which, particularly in your case, is a prime consideration, else your chrome will rust.

A clean good quality car cover will not harm a vehicle finish. Make sure you avoid putting it on a wet vehicle or very dirty vehicle as that can cause problems.
