Here I am sitting down by my desk listing down all the pros & cons of living in each city taking into account the cost of living, infrastructure, crime rate, traffic jam, cleanliness, anything & everything that affect our daily life. And in the end I say to myself, given a choice, which city would I choose to live in?
What's your preference?

Definitely the Lion City for everything that is positive in the list of factors you have prepared. There is really little or no comparison. Crime is really bad news in Kuala Lumpur and is rampant; traffic jam is horrendous, taxi scams are legendary (if you are lucky to get one to ferry you somewhere), cleanliness awareness is a very new in KL and where infrastrucuture is concerned one has to be accept inconvenience as a matter of course. Counter services, whether offered by Government departments or the private sector is super efficient in Singapore where everything works and this factor alone puts Kuala Lumpur to shame. Public transport is a breeze in Singapore whereas it is huge pain in K Lumpur. On cost of living, the Sing dollar is almost 21/2 times the value of the Ringgit but dollar for dollar when you earn Sing dollars, it is cheaper in Singapore where you more often than not, get better value for money spent. Singapore is a world standard city and by this yard stick, KL is still far behind with virtually no hope of ever catching up.

KUALA LUMPUR ALL THE WAY! Go Malaysians!
Stand up to yourselves or be laughted at by Singaporeans! Pity these weak minded people. Rest assured, there are many Malaysians who are happy to stay in KL.

WHY? TOP 10 REASONS !!

1. Wider roads.
2. You can live on landed property
3. Everyone can afford to buy a car or two
4. You can eat chewing gum
5. Less kiasu people
6. Better FOOD!
7. Nicer people
8. Not a US (America) *** kisser
9. Will survive a tsurnami disaster
10. Don't have to worry about terrorist bombing.

Singapore. It ranks high in several indices for standard of living. At 1 point in time it had the best Judicial system. #2 in life span. Constantly in the top 3 in most productive people (not necessarily a good thing). Cost of living may be high, but you must look at your pay too. Malaysia is still a third world nation. It is prone to riots, racism is major part of life, Corruption is far worse there than in Singapore. Singapore is considered one of the best and modern city in Asia.

singapore. Things are much cheaper for the salary sporean being paid. Lets say we earn rm 2000, milk powder cost rm 30, nike tshit cost rm 80 name any grocery.. etc.. But if i were to earn sing $2000 i could still have same items for half the price. Definitely a clean city, with good infrastructure, low crime rate, merit based universities, efficient, old folk friendly society.

I'm Thai and had the chance living in these two cities for many years.

In a foreign point of view, if you want to live a happy and people-oriented life, live in KL.

If you want to work, work, work, contribute to society that doesn't care if you die in your room alone or you're being murdered in your bathroom and nobody gives a damn, then live in Singapore.

Easy choice, isn't it?
