Go to Windows, Cookies folder. Delete everything in the folder. Also, delete contents of Windows, Temporary Internet, folder.
Do this after end of each internet session. Quicker than scan and will stop junk mail.

you don't want to get rid of the cookies for some of them will contain the passwords you put in like when you see the sentence "remember me on this computer", well all that information will have been stored in cookies and if you get rid of them, then you will have to put all that info back in again also some cookies are used to open up web pages properly and if you get rid of the cookies that you need for these pages then you are just asking for your computer to have problems and its all your own fault. also when you visit websites cookies are placed on your computer automatically so that the web page will open a lot quicker the next time you go to that particular site.

you need to understand that cookies are just pieces of data that are sometimes used to track where you are going on the internet and all websites install cookies to your computer, wheter it's yahoo, or google.
When you scan your computer with Spybot for example, it will detect tracking cookies usually...
You then have to remove the cookies manually in your browser (go to options and click on Show Cookies).. find the cookies that spybot found and remove them
Now, to prevent them from coming again, go to block Cookies, and type the website of the tracking cookie...... for example : adservices.com
goood luck.
