The Click Five is a power pop band from Boston, Massachusetts. Formed in 2003, the group consists of five members: Eric Dill, Joe Guese, Ben Romans, Ethan Mentzer, and Joey Zehr. Joe, Ben, Ethan, and Joey formed their band while attending Berklee College of Music in Boston (though the band is out of Boston, the men are really from different areas of the U.S.) They then enlisted the help of friend Eric Dill for vocals. Originally known as the Click, they enjoyed success on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with the song "Just The Girl" (written by Fountains of Wayne's Adam Schlesinger) in 2005. Earlier in 2005 they toured for two months as an opening act for Ashlee Simpson. Then later on in the year they toured along with the Backstreet Boys and then after that with Ryan Cabrera and The Veronicas. They have also performed at J.C. Penney's Rock Your Prom fashion shows. In the autumn of 2006, the band were the the special guests on an arena tour of the UK and Ireland with the pop punk band McFly.

Who are your Major Musical Influences and Why? Billy Joe Armstrong (Greenday) they were my favorite band when I first started playing and singing, and he was the front-man I admired most. More recently, Elton John, Billy Joel, Maynard James Keenan (A Perfect Circle\ TOOL) and Bono. They seem to have very distinct and likable vocal characteristics and a way of connecting to people.

What is the BEST Concert you ever saw and Why?
Elton John and Billy Joel - Back 2 Back. This was an incredible show for a number of reasons. For starters they are both musical legends and have seen it all. Believe it or not I bore easily at concerts but I was locked-into this show and was so interested with the way they performed. They performed the music just great and each song seems to captivate with its sound and history.

If you could meet a Musical Hero, who would you meet and what would you want to talk to him/her about?
Bono - Over the years he has put himself out on stage for people to witness and done a wonderful job with creating images and ideas to spark interest and imagination. He is a wonderful musician. He sings with passion and people understand that. I would like to talk to him about how he likes to sing and how his vocal system feels as he sings certain ways. I would pick his brain about what he thinks/has thought about on stage, what keeps him going, and how he manages being in U2 and having a family. I would tell him that his music captured my spirits when I was a youngster listening to my sisters' CD, in the car on a family vacation.

Music is:
Hard to define. Music is sound (+ or - words) composed in a manner that has the ability to convey emotions and thoughts. Music is something you don't need anything to understand other than a set of working ears. Music is expression in sound. It is a vehicle of feelings.

What is it about Music that you love, that moves you, etc.?
I love music's ability to create a mood, to persuade your thoughts in the direction of the music. Music is sexy and sharp. It is a very convincing way to get your intentions across to an audience. It is a real thrill to perform and move people. To get up and allow yourself to be vulnerable to others' judgment and have them accept and enjoy the sounds that come out of your mouth. It's like some kind of mutant ability : ) Music has the means to take you to places of memory, each time you hear a song you are joined again by that feeling you have for the song or what it means to you¡¦ what you were doing in life when you heard it in times before.

What do you want The Click to achieve?
I want The Click to be the biggest new band in the world. I don't want to stare at a wall trying to create the most offbeat or unpredictable music, rather I want The Click to broadcast to people in a very understandable and exciting way. I want to get out to millions of people and make them go crazy just as my musical interests have done for others in the past. I want to give somebody else the thrill and excitement from the stage and records that others have given me. I also want The Click to be a band that carries ourselves with dignity. Not a self loathing or malicious act; I want to be fresh and fun.
