Of course it doens't matter. But as long as there is a newspaper reporter, or a magazine writer, or a TV crew with a camera racism will never die.

Yours is a very superficial question; what matters are the culture, traditions and history sitting behind a person's skin color. Denying differences would be absurd; differences DO exist, and they're what makes our world so nice, or at least, would make it nice if there weren't racists. Everyone should be proud of what he/she is, of his color, his culture and traditions; it's a right that cannot be taken away from nobody. We're all human beings, yes, we're all the same , yes, we all should have the same rights, yes, no group should be discriminated, yes, but in order to do this PEOPLE SHOULD LEARN TO RESPECT BACKGROUND DIFFERENCES (CULTURAL, ETNHIC, RELIGIOUS, etc etc...).

Differences should be respected and seen in a positive way like means to learn more and become better human beings; using differences to discriminate people is what shouldn't be done. And that's what racism is all about: demeaning and discriminating someone because of their differences (be them cultural, ethnic, religious etc etc...) what we should ALL do instead is to ackowledge differences, respect them and learn for different people, because in this world we're all the same and no group should prevail or believe to be better than another. Peace.

it shouldn't matter what color people are, although it sometimes does

regarding comparing people to a box of crayons...i think it's childish not to refer to people's color. don't get me wrong, i am not racist, i love cultural diversity, in fact i think it's boring here because everyone around me is white BUT when it comes to races, color is the main thing that separates us. i'm white as snow, black people are black and asians have slanting eyes. yes, it's stereotyping, but you can describe a whole culture by this.

It doesn't matter to me and I hope that soon everyone will stop caring what color people are and start seeing each other simply as fellow human beings, equals.

No. But also keep in mind there are bigger differences between people than just the tone of skin. If there wasn't then we'd all have the same lifestyles which we do not.
