Well metaphoricly, we all wear mask to hide the true identity to feel safe and in control of ourselves.
Dont lie now, but wouldnt even you on the first date show the best you have? Its not lying, but its hiding part of your true self, the bad habbits that you know you'll be ashamed of.
Thats what we're all here doing, hiding behind our computer screens becuz we know deep down we're a little ashamed of ourselves. Admit it, you feel safer to talk crazy online then in front of public right?
Its practically normal, but with that woman again... dont blame her, say you undertsand how her fear is protecting her and say you respect her decision to not trust you. But you could make the move to be understanding and slowly proove her wrong. Be open about some parts of yourself and admit your afraid of somethings she might find out.
We dont pretend, we just hide. And it takes a true friend, a true heart to pull us out of that.

So serious y'all.....
I thought this was the one place we could be ourselves.
There's no reason to lie, mislead, or pretend.
We're just yakking away, trying to have a good time, or just passing time. Maybe it helps someone along the way. It helps
us most of all, to be able to get things off our chest.
There are those that insist on being vulgar, rude, or just
wrong. But for the most part I feel that the majority of people are
good honest folk. We're not trying to sell anything.

It's difficult to trust anyone, especially online. People lie and there are a lot of fake people out there. It's hard to tell who is being real and who is being fake. Sad but true.
