Korizon Aquino. Her politician husband was murdered by supporters of the dictator Ferdinand Marcos. Mrs. Aquino then ran for president against Marcos, who tried to steal the election, but a popular bloodless uprising forced Marcos to go into exile and Korizon Aquino became President of Philippines. This all happened in the 1980s.

Doctor Jose Rizal of Calamba city (in Laguna). He is one of the guys who freed us from Spanish rule (and in a lesser effect, on spanish friars). His achievements are writing the books noli me tangere, el filibusterismo, and the poem mi ultimo adios (my last farewell).
