YES!!! omg you are so right. People these days talk way too much, about frivolous things, to hear themselves talk; to gossip and other nonsenses. An animal as massive as a whale can be tamed but the tongue cannot be.

" Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. " -----

People since the beginining have always been chatter boxes.

& about the loving too litte, true, virtuous, authentic love today has been distorted and lost all its worth and meaning and has been replaced by mere lust and focus on physical appearance, which is very shallow but true. It is where our society has been heading ever since we started to move away from God and spinning into the abyss for eternity.

The lying too often goes hand in hand with the rest of the contents. Our tongue is a resltess evil and our sense of virtue and morality have somewhow become relative and unimportant.

WOW!!! I luv this question...if only I had a more resonable answer then this; I believe that god has made us perfect but the devil has also embeded some imperfects...such as lying, cheating, stealing, killing...etc...I feel something we have very little control over~talikng too much~but other things just come by habit~not knowing how/not wanting 2 love...lying...etc...~ So I ope that this kinda somewhat answers your really great question...When you get a very reasonable answer then you should let me know...pleaz...=]

Blame corporate culture. They've warped and twisted the new generation so much it sickens me.

It makes me very sad sometimes. It seems people have lost sight of the most important parts of life.
