Technically speaking, the U.S. is not a true Democracy. It is a Republic with strong Democratic ideas. For it to be a true Democracy, we would have direct elections of the President instead of having the electoral college. For it to be a pure Democracy, we would be able to vote on everything including laws. So, Democracy hasn't really failed America, the system in which we live in has failed America.

How can it ? Democracy is the will of the people. If the people want change they must implement change. Its in the constitution The people have the right to get rid of are own government and implement another. No one knows this beacsue no one looks up the rules anymore. If we don't like a law we as the people can vote against it. Its only happened one time in history when the people voted to end Prohibition. Its not the system does not work its people just don't know how it works.

no, i think that its the people themselves which do nto accept thier responsibility to make a decision that would be best for the nation that has failed america.

democracy means "by the people, for the people." we're "by the corporations, for the corporations."
