I get emails from all sorts of weird places asking me if I would like to marry a Russian woman or perhaps enlarge my pen!s.
I suggest that you give him the benefit of the doubt. Email addresses are traded all over the place. Suggest he hits the spam button and forgets it.
The whole trojan/passworth theft excuse sounds like babble to get himself out trouble but either way no harm done.
My concern is that you are reading his email. Is this because you share email (me and my hubby often read each others) or because he told you - or were you snooping and if so what were you looking for?

My Husband builds computers, he knows how to stop most things, but there is always someone " coming through the back door" AKA as hacking.. Yes it's possible, virus's latch on to innocent looking things.. example.... My husband was playing Lotto..every once in awhile he would win $ 5.00 it gave him choices as to what to do with the money... deposit it ..donate to charity etc... he would just donate it... after he started playing, all types of porn started popping up in the inbox.. kiddie , teen, xxx, animal, and every other disgusting thing you could imagine.. it caused us some problems till he had me start playing Lotto, the same thing happened to me... the only solution isto have your hard drive wiped... We have virus protection in place, plus we delete all temporary files and cookies daily... You have to trust him... this time,, I did.. but since he wiped the hard drive cleaned and we are vigilant. no more filth......if it kept happening, well that's another can of worms......Hope this helps

Someone else could have gone to passion.com, filled out your husbands details and given his e-mail address either out of malice or for a 'laugh' at work.
The problem is that you have read his e-mails - they are private - and then accused him. So now he feels defensive and you feel suspicious.
Go to Relate and get this sorted.
Otherwise you won't be able to trust him again and you'll be forever checking up on him.
If you share an e-mail address he's hardly going to be dumb enough to get that kind of thing sent there, is he?

Or perhaps he's a bit embarrassed that you've stumbled across something private he was looking at. Either that or someone else entered his e-mail address into a mailing list there. You don't need access to someone's computer in order to put them on a mailing list.

To give your husband the benefit of the doubt, it is possible. First do anti-virus scans using several updated security software. Then mark "passion.com" as spam in your email filters.

It could be his address has been shared by another site he looked at, or even a joke some one sent him with a with a link, if it persists then the only way would be to change his address a little

You thought of looking at the so-called profile and seeing what it says? Does the age and description of the profile match your husband?
