It was Jay Leno who appeared on Laverne and Shirley, but I don't remember the details of the episode. He just wasn't a famous talk show host.....not yet. lol

Johnny Carson? Mike Douglas? Merv Griffin? These were the only famous talk show hosts when Laverne & Shirley was on TV.

This was not his first appearance on TV. I remember seeing a rerun of "Good Times" where Leno talked to J.J. (Jimmy Walker) in the waiting room of a VD (now we'd call it STD) clinic. He was definitely recognizable, even back then (early or mid 70s). I think he only had a line or two.
