Dave Matthews is not a fraud. He is an artist. He's one of the only ones left that makes music from his heart and not for the paycheck. I love his music and I think that he doesn't mind the burning because it spreads his art. He wants to share with everyone.

Dave Matthews believes in evolving.

1. There's a responsible way to do everything. Why risk getting fined or jailed when you can listen to all the music you want for $10 a month with a service like Rhapsody?

2. They used to tour like crazy. Chances are, that's an area where they made as much or more money than music sales.

3. A high percentage of their fans are probably white, middle-upper class adults who are more likely to buy music anyway. Singer songwriter artists appeal to this demographic, many of which are successful at producing and publishing their own music because of that fact.

4. Instead of releasing standard CD's, release a combo DVD with lots of extras. People are more likely to buy it. (DMB did that with their last album)

i think some musicians feel like they're getting ripped of by the big record labels....on the Internet they can make more profit rather than paying the record labels...also they want their music to be heard by everyone not just by the people who pay for it
