I do NOT mean to burst any bubbles here, specially since you say those symbolism's have special meaning to you. BUT I've heard the one tattoo motif the tattoo artists absolutely HATE to work on more than any other is Tinkerbell or a fairy! Oh well! I would personally not feel very "clean" about a tattoo on my body, it would seem like a dirty spot that I would have to scrub off all day (too many showers, high water bill, not worth it for me, on others it might even look acceptable at times). :-)

Well, (I don't have one right now), to me a tattoo separates people into two crowds: Those that have 'em and those that don't. I know they are meant as an expression of self, but when I see a tattoo the impression I get is less about what the tattoo is of, and more about the fact that the person has one. The individual or unique message or picture is not what occurs to me at first. I see a person with a tattoo from a distance. I realize they have one, even if I don't know (or come to care) what it says or means. But! I'm not criticizing. I've been long considering having a girl's name (that I knew) tattooed on my arm. That is the only thing I would get, though.

tinkerbell? dear gods, what are you, 12?
Please think before you get that one done, imagine getting down with a guy 5 or 10 years from now, and you'll be sho ashamed him seeing that tattoo...
It's such a childish motive, you won't want it anymore a couple of years down the line, and laser removing of tattoos is expencive, painful and leaves a scar. Be careful.

I have 7- 13 of them depending on which way I am laying when you look. I have them on my breasts, my stomach, my left arm, and both my calves. They are tribal symbols that meant I had come to another passage in my life and represent from the birth of my 1st child to not being able to have anymore children to surviving a car wreck in which I broke my neck. Each tattoo is forever and needs to be taken seriously by the one getting it.

Well, which layout did you wish two years in the past? five years in the past? 10 years in the past? 20? Because that's what you're going to have for the relaxation of your lifestyles. Think very cautiously.... If you difference your brain in two/five/10/20/... years, it is going to be too overdue.

I don't have any, but my fiance has huge angel wings on his back. It's a tribute piece to his mom who passed away from cancer when he was 17.
