If you've known this person for 10 yrs and she can honestly say this to you, then you consider this person a closer friend than she does you.i would ask this person if they were serious about what they said and if the answer is yes, i would do a recount on all my close friends and down grade her to just friend. Close friends would want to see you succeed as well as themselves and if they were in a position to help you do that, they would.

Hard to really say how to take it without having heard it for myself, but... Since the chances of her winning the lottery are pretty much nil, I think most likely she was just screwing with you. She figured she could joke around and say whatever she wanted because you both knew it was never actually going to happen. In poor taste, maybe, but probably not something to break up a friendship over, if everything else is OK. You could tell her you thought that was a really strange thing to say to you, and you've been wondering what exactly she was thinking.

Buddies are hard to come by. Sounds like this girlfriend of yours is a very practical person and have all her thoughts sorted out. Yes, when it comes to business there is no line drawn between friendship and business. My advice is don't get into any work relationship lest you may lose a friend.

Your friend sounds shallow, very self-centered, and selfish!
But, if you've known her for 10 years, all of this should come as no big surprise!
If you like her, fine, be friends with her. But keep in mind, although she may be a friend, she is not someone you should every count on. If you need someone to be there for you.... FiND SOMEONE who is a TRUE FRIEND!

Wow, is she really your friend? That means that she only considers talking to people that are at her level? Does that means that she is your friend because she doesn't have anybody else? Then again she might just said it joking around. That deserves a serious talk with her. Definitely!

A true friend would not act nor treat you that way. The person has lost perspective of what really matters in life, and is headed for a rude awakening. But in the mean time-I would not permit anyone to treat me that way-because I like myself more than that!!! Find new friends until your friend comes to her senses-if she does!!

If you regards her as your close friend than everyone on the street can be your close friends too. Of course not! Close friends should be one that can go through high and low with you. And no requirements on which level you are.

I will be offended if she was serious with her story. Tell her you were offended (if you are) give her a chance to explain. Some friends tell things that may hurt you but they did not mean doing it. Communication is the key to a good relationship. Good luck!
