Oi! Hard one here... they change with my mood!

There's a good showing on One of These Days, it gets my award for best chilling out song.
Then there's the long, romantic sounds of Echoes. It's good for when I'm feeling... er... romantic!
Another favorite is Sheep. Good for anger. Same goes for Dogs, (Might as well throw Pigs (Three Different Ones) on here for good measure. Animals is very angsty.
Time and Great Gig in the Sky win my prize for listening to with my friends. They can't stand the long lack of human voices on most of my favorites. They go great in a set (so conveniently, too!)
My most inspirational (and best fix for those weird 80's craves) is On the Turning Away. Good one to whip out the lighters/luminated cell phones on.
See Emily Play, Astronomy Domine, and just about anything else Syd is great to do artwork by. Most other songs are pretty abstract.

Hrm... I have to say my favorite, though, is Embryo. It's found on the Works compilation (which has to be my favorite compilation!). It has a very soft, sweet sound to it and (gaspeth!) a post-Syd, non-abstract idea. It's my cure for sadness, overexcitedness, and insomnia.

Embryo, definitely.

Several species of small furry animals gathered together in a cave and grooving with a pict

I think thats the correct name, it's off Umagumma (spelling)

The most trippy stuff I've ever heard in my life, the welsh dude at the end talking is too much, every person I talk too has a different interpretation of what that song is about.

Coming in a close second is , see emily play, the nile song and one of those days, infact the entire wall album

Roger Waters is coming to my town in January....YAY!!!!

that's a tossup: on the Turning Away. terrific from gentle Sound of Thunder. very genuinely Numb. The guitar solo inspires lots loneliness. The musical genius of purple Floyd is so obvious in this one for me. extreme Hopes. i like the bells interior the heritage. Take It back. super song. choose You have been right here. "we are all purely, 2 lost souls residing in a fish bowl. 365 days after 365 days." super line! mom. Edit: Blue easy, David Gilmour. Love and Anger by using Kate Bush, David Gilmour on guitar.

I like Dogs, from Animals.

And I know "true" Floyd fans will call me a heretic, but I think "High Hopes" from the Division Bell is one of the best songs they've ever recorded--it gives me goosebumps.

And I'd like to add "There's no way out" from David Gilmour's first solo album, even if it isn't a Floyd release.

Gunners dream from the final cut album. The line where Roger waters sings "hold on to the dream" and the final note is held and blends in to a sax solo is one of the finest works to ever come from the group. yep it comes at the end of the Waters Gilmore era but still matches musically with anything from the 70's prime of the band. Too bad the rest of the album lacked the complexity and mood of this song. If you don't remember this one please treat yourself to another listening its well worth your time.

Us and them--I know its one of the singles, but I think it wins anyway. Ill give Free Four a close second. Not that the first side of echoes isn't great. Learning to fly is good, even if its barely floyd, and if you're in the mood for disco, there is young lust. There are a lot of great ones, on radio and not.

Watch Out for That Axe, Eugene or Astronomy Domine

One of These Days is fine, too.

I love "Fearless", though the entire "Animals" album is up there as well, especially "Pigs." "Sheep" is awesome too, though. And I love "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun", off of Saucerful of Secrets, and "The Nile Song", off of "More."
