well lol easy runescape is a browser game but there is a place on runescapes home page to download the game So It reduces memory usage , go to download extra files its under web site features and you can download the game or a map so you dont have to use the browser and loads some what faster to worlds when you change. this is found on the www.runescape.com

You don't it runs off your browser IE and Fire fox both support it you may need Java script or something. I'm not 100% sure on that it will tell you when you try 2 use it. You just need an Internet connection (preferable broadband) and away you go!
