Nationalism is an ideology that holds that a nation is the fundamental unit for human social life, and takes precedence over any other social and political principles. Nationalism typically makes certain political claims based upon this belief: above all, the claim that the nation is the only fully legitimate basis for a state, that each nation is entitled to its own state, and that the borders of the state should be congruent with the borders of the nation.Nationalism refers to both a political doctrine and any collective actionby political and social movements on behalf of specific nations. Nationalism has had an enormous influence upon world history, since the nation-state has become the dominant form of state organization. Most of the world's population now lives in states which are, at least nominally, nation-states. Historians also use the term "nationalism" to refer to this historical transition, and to the emergence of nationalist ideology and movements.

I belive it can be both good and bad due to the fact people can review their past civilisation. Also it is able to make us ponder on about the past out ancestor and what the previuos historical make up of a country was like. Nationalism has huge advantages on some levels it can make a country united for one cuase and this helps people communicate and live side by side if they are patriots of their country and belive in a common ethos.

In paradox nationalism can be ugly due to a common cuase people from oveseas can be frowned upon and looked as unequal figures.

Depends on the country and what nationalism is it far right or is it within the mainstraem.

Thank you

Great for unifying people together and forming new countries as well as breaking apart from different countries to make a new country for your own type of people. Nationalism's bad points include being hostile towards different cultures/groups of people and preferring one's culture or group of people over another culture/ group of people.

There is always good and bad points in any subject. Nationalism is good for uniformity but lack of competition in a long run results in lethargy and unproductive nature.
