In this order:
- Search in internet for templates or examples, there are many tutorialsout there
- As some of the local recruiter agents to provide you with a template, they should give you some help
- Go to the public library or university library, they should have some books on applying to jobs and making good cvs
- Show it to a relative or close friend of the familiy that have good experience in recuiting or applying, he or she would normally be more than happy to give some feedback

My advice: 2 pages tops, never lie, no typos and remember that the only purpose of the CV is only to get you a job interview, it will not get you a job straight away. I blew more job opportunities by poor job interviews than by poor cvs.

good luck

I am a sales coach / trainer and as such am involved in a hell of a lot of recruitment.

The last thing i want to see is a standard format CV. yes you have to list your personal details, educational qualifications, etc. But i want to know about you 'the person' not just a list of facts.

Try putting in a Foreword section. Just 2-3 paragraphs that say a little something about you, your plans, your interests and why you'd be good for the positions your applying for.

This will also allow you to keep your covering letter short and to the point: I am; i'm applying because; i should get an interview because.......... etc.

CV - Curriculum Vitae (your life story).
But think of it as a glossy sales brochure.
You have a product to sell and that product is yourself.
Having just finished A levels, you obviously have little or no work experience, so highlight your academic/social/sporting achievements - captain of the football team, member of the church choir, volunteer puppy walker for one of the doggies for handicapped people, whatever it is that you've done - if you haven't done it, go out and do it.
Make your target market believe that you are a positive and pro-active person.
There are websites that can give you free advice on this, if you can't find them, mail me, I'll send them on.
Good Luck.
And may the God of your choice smile upon you.
