Dampen a white cloth with some peroxide and wipe the yellowed spot.

I run all of our running shoes through the washer then dry by clipping the tongues to a pants hanger and let dry under the air vents.

I use liquid tide and some bleach and they look like new.

I think in regard to the yellowing, the damage is done now.

Funny, I just answered this question for someone else just a second ago... Get a pair of men's athletic socks (because they're big). Stick one shoe is each sock. The fibers from the INSIDE of the sock will clean the OUTSIDE of the shoe. Wash in hot water with a mild detergent (with the sock, there is no bleaching required). When the entire cycle is done, take the shoes out of the socks, stuff them with hand towels or old t-shirts and sit them outside to air dry. They will look as good as new!! No fancy cleaners, and no elbow grease...let the socks and the hot water do all the work!! My husband plays basketball and his Jordans seem to live forever. He taught me this neat little trick about 6 months ago. I tried it with MY pink and white tennis shoes and it worked just like I said! They look like new!
