What do you think should be done with 'poachers', those who illegally kill wild animals to earn money ?

What type of punishment should be given to them ? There was a man who killed more than a hundred tigers in India and now he is probably behind bars. But I think such criminals should be thrown into cages of lions and tigers..and let these wild animals do the rest. People might say that in a democracy such punishment should not be given but I think such a punishment is quite apt. From where do human beings get the absolute 'right' to kill wild life at will and to serve their own purposes ??

Neil B. has it right. I'm a hunter, and stiff penalties are altogether appropriate (but Jeez some of you folks are bloodthirsty crazies!)
By the way, many of you may not know it, but the vast majority of hunting laws, stiff punishments, and the tax money used for enforcement all come from hunters. We love the game we kill, and it's pretty well impossible to explain to non-hunters, who generally think of that as paradoxical.

I even tend to accept as true with maximum of your factors, and in maximum circumstances while wild animals attack human beings that is because of the human beings, not the animals. maximum wild animals circumvent human beings and could basically attack them while they experience threatened or cornered - situations that the human beings usually reason. whether, I do think of a wild (or domesticated) animal that has attacked and killed a human could be tracked down and destroyed. in many circumstances, the reality that wild animals stay far off from human beings and are petrified of them is by using evolutionary rigidity. Animals that attack human beings are hunted down and killed, which over the years creates animals that are petrified of human beings somewhat of attacking them. additionally, animals on no account get a 'style' for human beings or see human beings as being elementary prey. on the same time as I comprehend that that isn't the animals fault they act like animals, as a society we fee the existence of somebody guy or woman greater then we do somebody wild animal. i haven't any sympathy for somebody who's mauled or killed as quickly as they tease or disturb a wild animal, and that i think sorry that the animal is being destroyed. on the same time, we don't understand the motivations of that animal and we don't understand if it is going to start attacking human beings. next time, the guy who's attacked may well be a newborn or somebody who's harmless. As a edge word, animals that devour human flesh are often destroyed for well-being motives. while animals devour human flesh, affliction / micro organism / viruses that human beings of course carry (and are proof against) can mutate with affliction / micro organism / viruses that those animals carry. those ailments could make their some time past into human beings in a variety that's risky and we're not proof against. that's such as the scary 'fowl Flu' that could come from human beings residing in close proximity to birds and having numerous strains of flu mutate at the same time.

I'm all for the punishment fitting the crime, literally. In the case of poachers - they should be forced into some sort of large outdoor holding cage, while people chase after them with guns and shoot them to death.

Since these people only seem to care about money, someone should figure out how much money they made off of the poaching. Then they should make them pay double that price every month for every kill they made. Hit them in the wallet, these people make me sick.

Most people don't know it, but poaching is one of the most punishable crimes in America. A game warden can immediately sieze your vehicle, your gun, pretty much anything you have with you, and throw you in jail. If he has sufficient evidence it's a good chance you will wind up in jail and/or pay a hefty fine.

They should sell special hunting licences to hunt the hunters.
A prey that can reason and use a gun, and has an even chance, now that's what I'd call 'sportsmanlike.'
