I inserted a DVD into my computer, which usually plays them, but my computer no longer recgonizes it?

could be that your decoding software that permits you to play DVDs is malfunctioning. Go to your start button, then all programs. locate your decoding program(usually a title of the player you use). Or check with the computer manufacturer either on the web or by calling the support center.
