No I'm not surprised at all. A lot of the players were complaining about it and he gave in on this little thing to say hey look at me I'm looking out for you players. I think he gave in on this so that he doesn't have to give in on the two big topics in the NBA right now with the players, the dress code and the new technical foul rule. Just a theory by me, after all Stern is a political man.

I think I'm both surprised but also not. I mean the majority of players didn't prefer the new ball and it has shown to also injur their skin on their hands. That definitely showed something was wrong with the ball. However, it was surprising since this season Stern has been really strict on his changes witht he technical fouls and such. But whether it was a surprise or not. I think it was a good change to go back to the leather because of all the complaints. As many have said regarding the leather ball, ïf it ain't broke, don't fix it". And finally, Stern has done something I agree with this season.

Nope. There was nothing going bad about the leather ball anyway and the new ball was giving players all sorts of problems, so I'm not really surprised.

no, he saw that enough big time players complained about randomly changing a facet of the game that had stood for some 35 years.

it may sound petty, but as a basketball player, the quality of the ball definitely matters. it really ruins it to be playing with a cheesy, generic ball rather than a nice leather one...

No Not really because most of the players are used to the leather ball and sometimes the rubber balls does funky things

Yes, I was suprised. I thought the league's attitude would be "tough-you are going to have to get used to it", but to their credit they listened to the men who actually play the game.
