You can charge anything - it's whether there is demand that is the question. Most schools teach French, German, Spanish other European languages and even Mandarin / Cantonese before Portuguese. If however you already know you have a niche or demand, then I would suggest somewhere around £20 - £25 if the quality is good and the tutor is a trained language teacher.

where? if you mean in america. most likely it's not really possible the way your thinking. there isn't a huge market for freelance portugese teachers the way there is a big market for english teachers abroad. You have to work in a beaurocratic school system as a full time teacher here or struggle very hard to find people who want to pay you to teach them portugese. the price would be 10 to 20 us dollars per hour if you could find people who want to buy it.

It depends on your teaching quality. Korean parents are going crazy to find affordable tutoring. You should negotiate the price with the parents of the students

He might want to negotiate with the students. If he is more qualified, he can charge more.
