I know they say to turn it on and press F12 or F11 but when i do it just takes me to what is called the boot menu and that leads to no where any advice ?

Forgot to mention have no CD but have done it before without 1 just dont remember how it was done

YOU NEET TO GO TO BIOS SETTING AND IN BOOT UP SEQUENCE YOU NEED TO SET THE FIRST BOOT UP DEVICE TO CD\DVD.
THIS IS DONE TO HELP YOU BOOT FROM THE RESTORE DISK AND HELP YOU RESTORE YOUR SETUP.

Good day. U are going into your bios by clicking F12 OR 11. To restore your PC, Go into the bios and look for anything like boot sequence and make sure the CD Rom is first then the hard drive etc. Save, exit and try again. Laterz!

I have an HP and i have to use F10. Have to shut it off and when you turn it back on you have to be quick to hit the key. Make sure the key says "recovery". I would only do that as a last resort. Try the system restore feature first. With the recovery you will lose all programs you installed after getting the PC.

usually you must put your restore cd into your cd drive then press F12 or F11.refer to the source below.it from dell page

Go to setup (your bios) and make sure that you set it to boot from CD first.

try dell suport get on the net www.dell.com look for suport tell number and ring, I think they have a online help too
