my school has a thing where you pick a paper xmas ornament with a kids name on it [kids have aids] and i have NO IDEA what to get a 9 year old girl.....any suggestions? the paper ornament only has her name and age so i dont know what kind of hobbies she enjoys....

I would buy a craft kit of some sort, maybe a beading kit so she can make something. There are a lot of really cool kits you can buy at craft stores. That way she could make something and either keep it or give it to someone else,but she would have fun making it!

A 9-year old girl would most likely love a doll, but they don't all do. I'd suggest something not every 9-year old girl would be able to have...a doll is something they would. A $50 gift certificate to a candy store, a gift certificate for a pedicure or manicure, tickets to a Disney production. Try to think of something extraordinary and memorable...an afternoon on horseback! If she has AIDS, she will have a shortened life. Think of something that will give her a lifelong smile!

Ignore Awesome L, find out a bit more about the girl (you have her name, so you can find out from others), and do a bit of planning around her interests. It doesn't even have to be a big gift, but if someone sees they put a bit of effort into the process, any gift will be endearing.

most of those kids on the list don't have parents that can afford a Christmas present. So I'm sure some of the toys you played with all the time would be perfect.

I think practical gifts are always the best. Get her some pretty hair clips or a cute little purse.
