do I need to raise the engine to put in a new oil pump in a 1994 F-150 with 6 cylinder engine? The gauge is showing no pressure and I think I need a new pump.

Unless the engine is clacking from the lifters starving for oil or it is knocking, it is not the pump
Most of the time it is the sending unit. It has sometimes 1 and 2 wires connected to it and is located buy the oil filter.
If the wire is broken or has come of of the sending unit, it will show no oil pressure on the gage( if it has a gage) or the light is on if it has a light.

In many years as auto mechanic, I have never seen low oil pressure caused by a worn-out oil pump. Like the previous answer stated, it could be a faulty sending unit, or associated wiring. Low oil pressure can also be caused by loose/worn out bearings or a twisted bearing.
