Who cares if you can be prosecuted? You have a moral obligation as a member of society to report the no good S O B who is trying to milk the government. It's our (yeah, yours too) tax dollars that are paying them to be a lazy, good for nothing slug.

On top of that, what about the people who really need the assistance? They are working and suffering because they can't get the assistance they need, because of all the blood sucking lazy people who are malingering and squeezing us for all we have.

I dont think the question here is can you get in trouble. If you know that someone is taking disability money and you are sure they are not disable then you should report them. You have to be sure they are not disable. Sometimes people have problems that you can not see or notice but if you were in there body you would know. But there are a lot of people that take advantage of it. And our tax dollars pay for them. I really do not believe that you could get in trouble unless you are with them and know they are taking it and should not be. Being disable is a hard thing to see sometimes so be careful but you as an american need to help weed out the people that make our taxes go up our insurance cost and everything along that line. If your sure go for it. It is your duty.

(Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer. I am not providing legal advice. I am expressing my opinion regarding my own interpretation of the law, which may be incorrect. I hereby disclaim any liability on my part for your actions regarding this post.)

As I understand it, if they can prove you knew about it, they have a conspiracy to commit fraud case. The problem is proving that you knew something.

By posting this here, you made the job a bit easier as prosecution can file a motion to subpoena yahoo for access logs for this question. They can then cross reference the IP address to your ISP who generally knows who's paying for the service. Another subpoena gets that info.

Proving that it was you using the computer when the question was posted would be a bit difficult but not impossible.

To answer your question: (in my [potentially incorrect] understanding of the law) if you know about a crime being committed and don't report it (and not because of intimidation), you can be charged with conspiracy.

You have no legal or ethical liability unless you have a professional relationship, such as the person's doctor. It is not your job or concern, nor are you qualified to make that arbitary judgement. Also a really lousy thing to do.
