Running up the score is usually frowned upon in the first place unless the coaches are trying to create animosity...it certainly fueled the Dallas/Philadelphia rivalry over the years as they always seem to try to do it to each other.

With the Saints and Cowboys, though, there are other issues at play. As one other person mentioned, there is a relationship between the coaches that could get hurt were the Saints to run it up. Second, New Orleans has a lot of good will created by that team's resurrection this season and running up the score could hurt some of that.

Defintely not. That would not be a classy thing to do. The Saints got class. Only the Colts would do that, that's kinda weird though because Tony Dungy's one of the classiest guys around.

NO. They'd already humiliated the Cowboys. Why run the score up? They are already in danger of being the team the Cowboys *most* want to beat if they meet again in the play-offs. They might have been better off "taking it easier" on them. heheh

listen to this.........this goes out to the people who said yes............it shows that you have no class and no sports history!!!!

as a former player in high school and college no one likes to get revenge on a team that runs up the score. people will be looking forward to playing teams like this...lets say just another added motivation to kick the oppenents @$$

next, the Saints coach was in Parcells assistant team last year with the cowboys....he gave him a chance in the business and Payton was just showing good sportsmanship toward his teacher.

it was a classy move on behalf of Payton and the Saints...you dont see that alot on any level of sports anymore and i applaud them for doing that....people are concerned now about style points and looking good

I think so. Dallas didn't mind running up the score against Tampa Bay. It would've given the Saints a mental edge too. If Dallas plays them in the playoffs, they'd remember being thorougly ***** slapped.

Yes and no because of tie breakers point differential against conference opponents could decide home field or if you make it to the playoffs at all. On the no side you don't want to give a possible playoff opponent any extra incentive in a battle down the road.

Hell yeah, then Payton should have walked over and gave Parcell's the game ball signed "who stole the pebble out the masters hand now B**ch". That would have been funny. I can't stand the Cowgirls.

Had there been more time left, yes. But with about 2 minutes to go, it was a class move.
