Where can I find a real man? Seems to be a lot of boys out there.. but no men. I am not necessarily looking to date, I just want to be talked to with a little respect. As sad as that is, it's hard to find these days.

I am not "looking". I just want to be able to walk into a store or down the street..etc, without guys making crude comments as if it's nothing. I am definitely not a *********. I have respect for myself. I don't like drama either. It's not like I walk into situations looking for a guy. I don't even have to know them. I just want to be treated like a woman. That's exactly what I'm talking about. So, if guys are disrespecting me, I must be a *********? That's insane. I am just wondering.. where is the intelligence? Where is the respect? Where is the maturity? I can't believe how some of the guys talk to women these days. Look at some of these answers... wow.

Obviously, none of these guys know what resect is either. Let's see here, you're tired of boys (and playas I assume). If you want talked to on an intellectual level there's the library and (I know what you're gonna say) church. Avoid: the gym, frats, construction sites, Single-dad support groups(trust me), bars/dance clubs, Starbucks, driving ranges, shooting ranges, firemen/cops, middle aged businessmen.
Seems like that takes out a lot of options, don't it? Your still in luck though. Actually, one of the better places to find what you're looking for in a guy is at Home Depot. Forget the workers. Watch the guys shop. If he knows what he needs and where to get it, he'll be direct with you. If he's cool with the staff and check-out people, then he's easy to get along with. Conversly, you'll know pretty quickly if he's an ***. If he's driving a truck less than 15 years old(older means he's had setbacks-probably divorced) for supplies, then he's financially stable and therefore level headed enough to handle a relationship with a woman on any level.
Best of luck.

I’m sorry to say, but part of the fault for this falls on me and my generation. We decided not to have as many kids, with a lot of first and second pregnancies being aborted. Statistically, the first and/or second pregnancy is a male. Combine this with other changes taking place in humans and in the last 30 years we’ve seen a drop in the births of male children by over 25%, to where now more female than male children are being born. Combine this with the much higher rate death rates in males from numerous causes, especially suicide, and what you are seeing now are males realizing there is a growing shortage of men and they are taking advantage of it.

We had a social historian conference here last Spring. Those is had in my taxi talked about how in another 10-20 years, pluralistic marriages and women being forced to do jobs previously done by men, may become the norm. Jobs like sewer workers.

One other thing that is happening is that humans are living longer and maturing slower. Males don’t reach full maturity until age 30, or later. Prior to that, they are bombarded with the urges of their childhood. Yes, they can try to ignore these urges, but consider what it was like for you before you turned age 24. That’s when females reach full maturity.

There are no easy answers here, at least not for your generation.

Most of the times what we are looking for and what we expect to find get mixed up and we confuse ourselves totally. When there are expectations, there are bound to be disappointments. It is also true we cannot stop ourselves from having any expectations at all. If you look beyond the first few meetings, 'coz even the most intelligent of men can turn into an idiot in the presence of beauty. So, give them a chance beyond the first few meetings and maybe the man inside of the boys may reveal itself.

Sometimes the second chances bring us a better fortune! So, happy discovering! May you find what you are looking for! Or it may be that you might find it when you are not really looking at all!

The real men are gone because of MTV's convoluted "reality" of a man. Namely, the hairless, clean shaved metrofags that rape television on a daily basis.

And if you're not being talked to with respect, then chances are good that you're either not worthy of respect or a *********.

Check out clubs in your area that have activities you enjoy. That way you'll be spending time with guys that enjoy the same activities you enjoy. Also, even if you don't find Mr. Right, you'll be having a great time!

Try colleges, industry conferences, investment groups, cycling clubs, etc. Car clubs are a male-dominated realm, so you'd have your pick of the signle guys there, but they're more likely "boys". Avoid bars, team sports, and the places you were looking before.

i think the problem is that most women have such a vocal disdain that most of the good men have given up on communicating with women. Invariably, the woman steps up the rhetoric, and if the man responds in kind, the woman "feels" threatened. Then the drama begins. Most men don't like drama - especially thepublic female kind. it's a no-win for men.

see?

mass media has forced most "men" as u refer to to go into hiding in the wake of braindead commercialized "boys" flooding the planet hoping to impress equally shallow "girls".
i'm finding it hard to find a woman, the place is filled with girls.
the best place to look is among people who work in areas which require actual thinking. people in the arts can go either way. young and rich seems to lead to stupid in most cases.
clubs may not be of much use.

Ask some questions that are thoughtful and revealing of ones charactor and heart... if you find a person who seems interesting, look through some of their questions and answers to get an idea of if you think they are a "man" or "boy"?

wow someone is full of themself. Are you hoping guys will hit on you from answers? saaaad... by the way, stop thinking every man in the world wants you. Men don't just make crude comments out of nowhere. when men flirt, they open doors and make conversation. I rarely have men make rude comments unless it's at a gas station and they're all grimy from work and they just want to blow off steam. They just whistle or say "hey girl" I just smile and shake my head. Stop being so angry. They're probably laughing because of your sourpus expression. Get over yourself
