Can I send encrypted email messages to others who have different digital id provider than the one i am using?

Use the open-source implementation of PGP, GnuPG http://www.gnupg.org/ ,each of you will have a public & private key for sending/ decrypting emails.

just try it and see send a friend a e-mail see if they can read it
