Just today I heard shocking news(for me, that is) that my best friend (a he) is about to move(we're living in a kost, you know, where people from other city live when they come to a city to study or work) about four or five months to go. I know someday everybody will go away, live their own life, but I'm just not ready for this. I've had a few friendship that rust because of distance and time. Are friends supposed to be that way? Is there any way that I can make him stay or whatever, just so we don't lose contact then rust with time? I know I'm kinda weird but hope there's answer to this...

It just will feel strange, one day you're happy going out altogether with all your friends, the next day you wake up, you'll find out the one you used to talk to and hang out happily is gone, leaving you not sure what to do or what to say. Ok, life goes on, but will it ever be the same? I'm not sure... I want to believe what people say that friends are angels who have the other wing that you need to fly, but now I just hate that bullshit...

Of course there's an answer, and it's an easy one!

Support him in this next stage of his life. Understand that he's probably worried about losing touch with you as well, plus being nervous about going off into the wider world. It's a tough time, and he needs you to be a friend now more than ever.

Then, email or call at least once a week to make sure you keep in touch. By being that solid link to this time and place, you make yourself a very valuable friend indeed.

blah blah blah, they come and go. my best friend is in some dessert fighting an illegal war. So go cry a river. Like you wont be able to visit. My mom lives three thousand miles away and my brother lives across some atlantic ocean thing, and youre b*tching about your sleepover buddy.
