If 1.5 is what you had AFTER installing windows, then the 1 gig you seem to be missing is due to installed programs, downloaded items, temporary internet files, etc. You can start freeing up space by deleting temporary internet files and uninstalling unused programs. you can also search for files you may have downloaded and forgotten about. Simply run a search from the start menu using a wildcard search (*.*) with size options. For example, search files and folders for *.* with a size of AT LEAST 5000kb, this will list all files on your computer that are more than 5mb.

right click on ur drive(c,d,e...)...then select propertise...
click on dick cleanup
Check all the options...then click
it will del all ur useless files...and u might get ur space back
