Knee surgery has become very common nowadays. My cousin also got her hip replacement surgery in India through the forerunners healthcare .She is more than very happy with the results. She is totally pain free now. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.
Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines. I have read a lot of their patient stories also. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as all joint surgery is not covered by insurance in USA or by NHS in the UK. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
Many patients travel from United States of America and UK to get low cost surgery in India. Indian corporate hospitals are comparable to hospitals anywhere in the world. In fact, India has medical facilities that are comparable with the USA, UK and Canada. India offers World Class Medical Facilities, comparable with any of the western countries. Do one knee at a time! Trust me. I am surprised your surgeon would be willing to do both at once. I can't say for sure how long you'll be out, it varies from procedure to procedure (I've had 3, I know.) Usually for one knee alone, you're under for about an hour, plus an hour in the Recovery Room. It's not that bad, and the pain is easily dealt with. 1st surgery- had a small complication, out for about 6 weeks due to a little atrophy in my thigh muscle. Had to use crutches the whole six weeks. 2nd surgery-about 3 weeks. Didn't use my crutches at all. 3rd-12 days.-used the crutches 3 days and that was it.

The first thing you need to do is learn to spell out the words so your post is easier to read. The scars will be so tiny that within a year or so you won't really even be able to see them. The healing rate I am not sure about but if you call your doc and talk to his nurse she can tell you how long you should expect to take to heal. Hubby had his knee done twice and it wasn't a long process but I can't remember exactly how long it took for him to totally heal.

Ok well first of all you had to do something for that to happen and for the most part depending on age and your general health the healing time will be different the scaring will however not be that bad if the wound is treated right and kept clean it shouldn't be that bad just remember to take it easy afterwords and follow the doctors advice as long as it seems good to

Very small scars. Usually one small one (about the size of the diameter of a pencil eraser) where the scope goes in, and then another small scar (2-4 cm) where they make the incision to take out the bone fragment.
I had the same done years ago, but it was cartilage being taken out.

I had a lateral release that way (with the cameras). I just have 3 little dots on each knee, I was pretty religious about using maderma (think about picking some up before going in), so 4 years later they're barely visible, the color matches the rest of my skin, they just look a little shiny.

Arthoscopic knee surgery isn't that big of a deal! You have 3 small holes in your knee. you will probably be in a knee immobilizer for a week or 2 and probably be on crutches. You will probably be prescribed pain meds & have to ice. I have had 3 arthoscopic knee surgeries on my right knee, I just tore both meniscus. You'll be just fine!

Very minimal scaring, really. My sister had her acl replaced at 16 years old. She was sent home the same day as surgery and pretty drugged up and rested all day. She has to get the other done soon and it's nothing too major. :o) she was up and mobile the next day, with crutches.
