I have a good friend who is confused at the moment. She met an older man on campus who is married (on his third marriage in fact) and the two have been flirting on and off for some time now. Recently, he told her that he would like to have more of a relationship with her and she has been talking to me trying to justify it to herself ever since. Nothing I have said yet has snapped her out of this and she continues to go on and on about how it's alright to do this because he's not happy and his wife doesn't love him in the same way anymore.

Is there anything that you suggest that I can say to her to snap her out of this obviously WRONG way of thinking? I am truly concerned that she may sleep with him soon if I don't find some way to reach her.

If she is trying to rationalize the justification of sleeping with him, I am afraid you trying to dissuade from doing so is falling on deaf ears.
Her heart is controlling her decision and not her mind.
She is going to sleep with the jerk regaurdless of what you say.
Yes, she will end up as the mistress and her heart will ache each night he is with the woman he does not love.
You can try and tell her that the two of them should put their relationship on hold untill he gets a divorce and then they can be together.
I am sure the jerk will think of some reason that he can't divorce her.
She is an adult and will have to live with the consequences of her decision.

If the guy's wife knows and consents to their (your friend and his) relationship then everything is out in the open and nothing can really be done. But, if there is some form of cheating going on where all parties are not aware of what is happening then your friend should really ask herself whether she would want to be in a relationship that is based strongly in deception.

Just reading your question I can tell that man is " feeding" your friend a line just to get her in bed. HE'S telling her HE isn't happy, wife doesn't love him etc. all coming from him...I wouldn't believe this guy if he said " Good Morning" . Your friend needs to back away from this guy and distance herself before she does something she will regret.

you should give up because she knows what she is doing and does not care or she would not do this in the first place.
you need to watch her because if she doing this now what thinks she won't do this to you.
but your worry about her you should tell her how would she like if someone do that to her and tell her what make her think he going to be faithful to her and if she don't listen then you know she don't care and wants to be the other woman..

well, it may sound wrong to do to a friend...but if she is not listening to you, tell his wife and let her see what the man she married is doing. and you would be saving you friend from alot of heart ache i bet. especially before she falls in love.

Ok, Tell her to put herself in the other woman's shoes. If she doesn't like the thought of that, you should go and talk to the other woman yourself, and tell her that her husband is trying to get into another woman's bed. It's in your friends best intrests anyways.

Maybe first you should think about why you are trying to talk her out of it.. The best thing you can do is to stay out of it. She knows what you think about it but you can't force her to do anything! she will just resent your interference. Who knows.. maybe it will work out for them. If it doesn't, just be there for her.

You might want to ask her if she would like it if someone did the same thing to her. You might also want to ask her if he is so unhappy why he has not left his wife and why he is worth cheating with if he is that dishonest

Do not waste your energy. She is not going to listen. Let her make her mistake. Pain builds character.
