As Chomsky reminds, Sadam never was a threat to the USA. "The idea verges on absurdity. Up to 1990, when he was committed by far his worst crimes, he was a friend and ally of those running the show in Washington today. Far from seeing him as a threat, they even provided him with means to develop weapons of mass destruction." If this is true, then the war would be as just, as just is for one to correct one's mistake.
If such were the case, USA would first think and explain how this mistake happened, why supporting a cruel and authoritarian regime, its arming and its murders and tortures, seemed just and good sometime, and why it looks differently now. What is it that changed?
If the USA had been following the demands of reason, if justice were of any concern here, then the attack against Iraq wouldn't be an attack of history's supposed innocent and innocuous People, but an attack of someone who made a grave mistake, admitting this mistake and explaining how all present activity, warlike or other, really heals the internal wounds. This means, USA would attack like someone who attacks and corrects himself, not an external threat.
Not having faced truth, not seeing into the USA the criminal, and not having made first of all against themselves an attack of thinking and criticism, USA, as regards justice, most probably replaces the first mistake with a second one, continuing thus their criminal activity and not at all correcting it.
The cynicism with which very often financial interest is placed first of all explanations, reveals how debased is our view of the Western societies. Even thus, is this war a profitable war?
A gang of thieves as such, may have some profit, but not finance, because loot is not finance. Therefore, however great the profit might be, since it is not based on work, economy and the relevant institutional framework, it will bring dissapointment rather than joy, being a contribution to the corruption of economical thinking. The war is useless and deeply damaging to the USA even from the financial point of view, no matter what profits should ensure temporarily.

Excellent question!! Tough to answer!
Many of the private business connections the Bush family and colleagues of the Bush family have [some of who hold public office] are from Saudi Arabia. Millions possibly Billions of dollars are at stake with the rebuilding of Iraq and the "rechanneling" of Iraq's natural resources. Much of the money to be made in this process will directly affect all of these people.
The Sunnis, who are the richest people of the Muslim faith in Iraq have ties to the Muslims in other countries like Saudi Arabia. To overthrow a leader like Sadam benefits everyone in this circle financially. Money is the root of all evil! If you really follow what's going on over there, you can come to no other conclusion.
By getting the American people to believe that Iraq was the most dangerous country in the world. President Bush redirected the outrage and feeling of retribution that we felt after 9/11 towards Iraq instead of to Osama Bin Laden . Osama comes from Saudi Arabia. The Bin Laden family is one of the wealthiest families in Saudi Arabia. Many of the Bin Laden's have enormously large amounts of money invested in the Bush family businesses.
Of course I don't believe the whole Bin Laden family are radical fundamental Islamics who are trying to erradicate the world of Americans, however, Osama has taken credit for training the bastards who hijacked those planes and yet 5 years later he still walks free. Hmmm!
I don't agree with everything Michael Moore has said in his documentary Farenheit 9/11 but you can't watch it and not question what Bush's real motivation was by invading Iraq.
Saddam Hussein was a complete bastard who committed inhumane and immoral crimes against his own people. When the prez decided to go into Iraq it shouldn't have been cloaked under the guise of the American terrorist attacks. That still needs to be answered for by the #1 man responsible.

Simple minded Bush, who has never held accountable a single deed in his entire elitist life. Brought back his dad's old team in their minds they were still fighting the cold war. Basically what they did was dust of old plans and used then for invading Iraq. In my most humble opinion G.Bush is just a one big IDIOT SON OS AN ASS HOLE.

Many terrorists who were responsible for 9/11 were scattered throughout the world. Going to war with Iraq was a way to lure many of them to a specific geographical area so we could deal with them. In the process, we removed a cruel dictator. A win-win situation. (if you want an honest answer)
