The song was very sad in nature. The girl had a beuatiful haunting voice. They played it on the radio at Christmas time anywhere from 2 to 4 years ago. The girl was young at the time maybe 12. Does anyone recall a song like this... it is driving me nuts.

I don't recall any of the lyrics unfortunately. I know it is not where are you Christmas ( thanks to whoever gave that answer). My husband seems to think the girl was from Russia. I want to say that the song had a similar theme as to the song The Christmas Shoes. I know it is not much to go on but maybe it will trigger someones mind. It's not Charlotte Church either. Sorry this is very fustrating

I heard this song yesterday and I know I have heard it before. She sounds quite young. She is singing about an injured bird that she saves but something costs money and well, I didn't get to hear the rest of the words with my 2 kids yammering in the back of the van..
I have done some searching since I really want to know this particular singer myself. Her name is aselin debison. If this is the same singer. Do a search on here. There is info. The song is called 'The Gift'. About a poor girl named Maria. From what I read on here the singer is about 12...

Might it have been Charlotte Church? She did a few songs back then and she was that age. That is the only one I can think of.
