The "sleeve" between the actual door knob and the door won't budge. Is there something additional that needs to be done to get this bad-boy off the door? No, it's not stuck by paint.

If there is a cylinder (i.e. it can be locked/unlocked with a key), then you have to insert the key, turn it, and then depress the tab to remove the handle, then you should be able to get at the mounting screws.

Emtek cylindrical locks are just like schlage A-series.

if you are talking about the collar around the handle. it is treaded on so get a large pair of channel locks and untread it. its easy after that

some of the brands have a set screw in the strike. if you open the door and look at the strike there should be a small hole near the strike, if so youl need a allen wrench that will fit and loosen the set screw.
