You'll get them or not. There isn't really anything you can do about it, and there's no telling when they might appear. Relax and enjoy the last moments of your pregnancy!

Haha...well, there are couple of factors that determine if you'll get stretchmarks...and a few ways of getting rid of them if you do. Genetics play a large role in whether or not stretch marks will develop. If you're mother, for example, had stretch marks, there's a good chance you'll get them too. Are you currently pregnant or are you just gaining weight? I assumed you meant your worried about getting stretch marks from pregnancy. If you're pregnant, the best thing you can do right now is use cocoa butter, and then after the baby is born, get a microderm/laser treatment or VelaSmooth while the marks are still fresh and pink. The longer you wait, the harder they are to get rid of. The same is true if you excessive weight gain, in general....try to get treatment right away if you're concerned by it. Check out the links below...there are a number of medspas who offer free consultations. You can check out your options. Hope this helps!

I had many before I even got pregnant, but even though my son was growing fast and on the bigger side on normal, he was 8Lbs 8oz at birth, I didn't start getting any new stretch marks until 6-7 months or so, when my regular clothes stopped fitting me. lol

I would suggest using a good moisturizing lotion something with either shea or cocoa butter in it to help keep any stretch marks to a minimum. And that is not coming from a beauty stand point either, I am constantly worried that one of my stretch marks will open up it I scratch it too much or something is going to happen to one of them. I wish I didn't have so many of them, next pregnancy I am using a good lotion everyday.

Stretch marks are herditary. If your mother has them then more than likely you will too. you can use the cream and all that stuff, but it probably won't help. I got them when I was around 5 months. the ultrasound tech thought that it was my third or fourth child b/c they were so bad. I am proud of my stretch marks, because the beautiful baby boy I got in return was well worth it.

I think I started to get mine at about 5 months. Im only 5' 3" and weighed about 120 pre-pregnancy. Now I weigh 185 at 40 1/2 weeks. My stretch marks go from my calves all up my legs almost my entire tummy around to my sides and a little of my back and of course my breast. Im like one giant stretch mark. The appearance doesnt really bother me but the ones on my tummy itch so bad!!! its driving me nuts. But its worth it.
I like to call them my "mommy marks"!

You don't get stretch marks until after the baby is born. What happens is right now, the skin is stretching as you get larger. When the baby is born, it's like a balloon deflating, and the skin contracts unevenly, which is what creates the stretch marks. Massaging your stomach during pregnancy is supposed to help and sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. I think it has more to do with how large you get and what type of skin you have. And the good news is that everyone doesn't get them. Even some people who are huge during their pregnancy, manage to escape.

Stretch marks dont happen only after pregnancy. I never got any on my belly, but around 4 or 5 months, i got them on my breast and my hips. maybe youll be one of the lucky few and not get them at all! everyone is different!

37 weeks. I was devestated. I thought I made it through with no battle scars but I guessed too soon. I even bragged about not getting any. They always pop up at the last minute. You never know you're in the clear until three months after you've had the baby. Trust me, you get them then too. Best of Luck! Congratulations!

I don't mean to brag but I didn't get any! I put globs of cocoa butter all over my belly, butt and thighs twice a day from the middle of my first trimester until my baby was almost three months old. Got expensive but it was definatly worth it.
