Like the way the boys tried to make a system and government. How would you compare it to World War 2. Would you compare Jack to Hitler?

I suppode you cold compare Jack to Hitler because he used fear in order to gain and maintain power on the island. Jack's "governemtn" is the opposite of the democracy that was initially attempted on the island by Ralph and Piggy, etc.
the book itself was a product of William Golding thinking about the Nuclear bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki--it was an attempt to trace the flaws of society back to the defects of man, and to show that no government is perfect--because it has PEOPLE in it and people are flawed.

Piggy's Glasses - Present the power of science and intellectual endeavor in society. The Conch - A powerful symbol of civilization and order in the novel. Signal Fire - A barometer of the boys’ connection to civilization. The Beast - Simon reaches the realization that they fear the beast because it exists within each of them. Lord of the Flies - A severed sow’s head that Jack impales on a stake in the forest glade as an offering to the beast. This complicated symbol becomes the most important image in the novel when Simon confronts the sow’s head in the glade and it seems to speak to him. The people symbolise each being - Ralph represents order, leadership, and civilization. Piggy represents the scientific and intellectual aspects of civilization, as of his glasses. Jack represents unbridled savagery and the desire for power. Simon represents natural human goodness. Roger represents brutality and bloodlust at their most extreme.
