if you want to know his/her character you should travel with him/she cause travelling will explore every thing in his character, and if you cant travel you can not decide for sure until you meet him/she many times , every time should be completely different situation from the other :
1. happy moments
2. sad moments
3. frustration or angry moments
4. communication with other people
and that will take at least 10 meetings to decide what is his/her character

A better question is "how to know the existence of other minds." Can we empirically prove the existence of other individuals? It seems that what is only counted as "knowledge" anymore is scientific analysis rested in empiricism. So now can we not "know" if another exists? What is the point of character anymore when he doesn't exist!!

The feel of a person. Face reading. Astrology - a general outlook, since beginners don't know much more information an average person should.

take a moment to look deep into their eyes..it can tell you a lot...it's the window to the soul.
for a more concrete approach, try to see past their 'show' or 'mask' and pay attention to the little things they do and the decisions they make and how they react in times of stress or anger. those trying times will tell you about the person the most

you gotta study the way they act the way they talk and express their selves the way they think and do things. u just gotta pay attention to people like u know ur friends character cause u know the 4 long and u study what they like and what they dont like

Watch them in all diferent kinds of situations such as
1. Caught in a lie
2. scared
3. sad
4. mad
then watch how they act towards people
all of these should show you what a kind of person they are!
