Are sticking strictly to Japanese style? What about Ghost in the Shell? Have you tried Frank Millers Sin City? And there are several more Tri Guns out there. Have you checked with your local library? Our library has a huge selection of graphic novels. I have read dozens of manga's as well as the american versions from the library. Here's an interesting wiki link that may give you a few ideas.
