My dear Martha biiiiiii ----- Dont u see that he is yelling ''Love'' ????? [not sex only].
Give him lots of love & affection & attention -----then see the changes.
We are all hungry for the abv ; and if they are lacking in a relationship, a person either seeks it elsewhere or if he is a good person, then he withdraws from life & thinks there is no reason to be happy and to feel lively.
Hence they withdraw in a shell of their own.
Thank yr stars that its not the other way round --- i.e. being 60 and behaving like 40.
PS --- Hw abt planning a short vacation for only the 2 of you? somewhere nearby. It could be only a weekend together.

That has all the ear marks of stress at work. Or putting in too many hours at work. When he comes home he is exhausted and just wants to rest. If he is in maintenance it is most likely a combination of the two.
If he is an over the road truck driver when he gets home he wants to be at home. He gets more than enough of eating out while on the road.He has also most likely see enough drunken morons splatted all over the roads that he has no desire to go out drinking. Plus he has his CDL license to think about.

Does he have health problems? Is he overweight? Eating right and exercising make a person feel much younger and more energetic. I'm 42 and have more energy than I had when I was 20 because I lift weights and hike several times a week.

Could he be depressed? Depression can decrease energy and motivation and make life seem to tiresome to deal with.

Depression or simply overwhelmed.

Hire a cleaning person (if you are referring to your wife) or a handyman (if you are referring to your husband) and surprise them by getting the hired help to knock out a few of the chores/projects that have needed to be done for some time.

They will feel such a sense of relief that there isn't a ton of stuff that needs to be done in their spare time, they will gladly go out for a night on the town.

Does he get the right diet, the right exercise and the right amount of sleep? Has he had a complete checkup in the past two years?
(Including a PSA.)
Is the night out after a day of work or a day of rest? Are you going to do something you both enjoys?
I hope you can figure it out for you, him and your marriage.

Maybe it's time that you both learn to do things that are a little less physically draining... Once you hit a certain age, your "clubbing" days are over and you need to settle for a nice dinner and a movie.
