I have NEVER let others see my as I see myself. If I did that then people would expect more of me if they knew what I am capable of. The less people expect from you, the more of a surprise when you do something so totally unexpected that you shock them badly. The only person who ever saw past the facade that I present to the rest of the world (besides my wife and parents) was my high school counselor. He had eyes like a friggin' hawk, and caught me out. I was getting terrible grades in high school, and he called my bluff, and put me in advanced classes - and doggone him, he knew what he was doing. My grades picked up from C's and D's to A's and B's...I tried to hide it but he knew better by then. At least no one else in school figured it out.

Since then I've gotten better at hiding my true self and my abilities. I've been called a man of wisdom, but I deny it. Wisdom comes only with age, and I'm only 34 - I've got a long way to go before I even approach wisdom. I've been accused of having good morales, a strong character, leadership abilities, good common sense, a solid sense of honor, and many more nasty things >.< LoL - but I deny them all, I just live a quiet life and hope that no one ever finds my notebooks of stories or poetry until long after I'm gone...

I know there's more to me than others can see with their eyes. Only a handful of people have discovered that.

Absolutely not. In some aspects, I'm much more critical of myself (especially aesthetically), and in others I have far too high an opinion of myself (Best cook of all my friend group! Yes!)

I wish I knew. I just do my best to act the way I would rather others act. Maybe that way, I can set a good example.
