I often wandered why, myself... Actually I think it's kinda funny cuz the first one is an action verb in Romanian. It means 'to do'... hahahaha
Also the second one means whip... we used it to whip the horses when we ride them or when they need to pull on the chariot... hahaha
SO I wonder if someone decided he didn't like ROmanian and used mockingly these words giving them the bad connotation to make fun of Romanians... hahaha

Most curse words are common (i.e. non scientific) words describing bodily functions, the genitalia or private parts of the body, sexual activities, gender-related terms, or places or things that have been deemed unholy by a particular religion. Because these things are perceived as being "dirty" or "unholy," they are also used as insults by extension. Because of their dual meanings, the question of whether a word is a curse word or not depends a lot upon one's intention.

For example, it's not a curse word to refer to the place where the evil or unforgiven go after life as "Hell," but it is a curse to tell someone to "Go to Hell." Some words don't have this dual meaning, however, and these are often considered the more insulting of the curse words. These typically have to do with sex more so than religion.

In my opinion, they're just words and can be used either with the intention of expression emotion, enriching a description, or offending another person, just as any word can.

Depends on how it's used. Tone of voice, and so on. Like people call
Red women squaw. But that word was a French slang word for a
vagina!

I agree, it's just a word. I would like to know who decides these things. Most of these words were probably created so long ago and they have stood the test of time. It makes me think that people just aren't capable of independant thought. However, it is socially inacceptable for whatever their reasons. Because of that, they are offensive to people. I hate to offend, so for that reason, I try not to use them.

Because that is the way we have been raised. In our society these words seem vulgar and inapropriate, however in others they have different meanings and acceptance. Words are just ideas spoken aloud, it takes a person to interpret its meaning, and people to convey its message.

Words have meanings. They convey thoughts, they show respect or disrespect for others. Would you rather overhear someone saying how attractive you are,or that you are unbelievalby ugly? People use curse words to show anger or disrespect or to hurt others. If they had no meanings, would you use them?

It is due to the customs of what is deemed polite speech in a society. The British use "bloody" which U. S. citizens do not find offensive generally.
