I hate standardized tests. But it would seem ultimately more hurtful to society than the use of steroids in sports.

It's not policed. There are no drug tests. Internal possession in not a crime. I read about it in New York magazine. It struck me as odd.

It's considerably safer and sometimes prescribed for other reasons than just ADD.

Ritalin is not only used for those with ADD or ADHD. It has many uses. If you look up ritalin on the internet you will see it's multiple uses. It is also used to treat symptoms of traumatic brain injury and the daytime drowsiness symptoms of narcolepsy and chronic fatigue syndrome. It is also used in combination with anti-depressants to counteract the side effects of drowsiness.

Hope this helps, I would suggest doing your own research on the internet about this medication.

It's not okay. If Ritalin is not prescribed for you, you are not supposed to take it. Not to mention that this is a form of drug abuse. If you have done this before, you should stop this dangerous practice, and consider putting yourself into rehab or get other psychological help.

You are right. my kids have ADD and have to take the stuff... but there are side effects and I hear that taking it when you don't have the condition that it has the opposite effect, It will have a normal person bouncing off the walls. I am not sure though.

I'm not sure it is, but it does raise another question: Why is it ok for them to drink coffee or other caffeine-induced beverages?
